The Art Deco chandelier from the Baccarat/Christofle Pavillion at the Paris 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes has been reassembled and restored in Sydney.
The chandelier was sold after the Paris exhibition and installed in the foyer of the Regent Theatre in George street Sydney which opened the following year in 1926.
After the demolition of the Regent in 1990 the chandelier was dismantled and has been in storage for almost 20 years. Recently the owner had the chandelier reassembled and restored. The picture below was taken on 20th July 2009 in the basement in Sydney which has been its home all these years.
Hopefully it will find a new home where it can be seen and appreciated once again.
