Every now and then I see renovations or decorative additions that just don’t work. They either look terrible, look cheap or would look better not having been done in the first place.

The new “Deco Disasters” category has been added to showcase such decorative additions and to suggest reasons why they have fallen short of their potential ideal.

Many improvements are done as cheaply as possible. Saving money is certainly a valid motive however I believe if your going to do something why not spend a bit more time and money and do it properly. A crappy job is never going to get better with age while a good one will always be admired.
